The robin laid four eggs above our front door towards the tail end of spring. All four hatched in a few weeks’ time, and soon after, they were faced with an unrelenting heatwave. They survived, and I was lucky enough to catch them as they flew for the first time. I happened to catch a photo of them as they contemplated their descent then put my camera down, eager to witness this ancient, sacred moment with my original lenses.
